If you’ve been around a while you will know by now I’m a bit of a beauty addict.
For those of you who are new…
Hello. My name is Emily and I’m addicted to makeup.
When I heard there was a new beauty box on the scene, obviously I wanted to try it out and see for myself if it was any good.
In today’s post I’m going to be taking you through my experience with MOP Box and sharing my honest thoughts on whether or not it’s actually worth your money!
About the Brand
Makeup Only Please… This is exactly the kind of box every beauty addict is after!
MOP was created by a makeup artists and designed to show people what they can do with makeup with a little guidance from the professionals. It’s all well and good giving someone some makeup, but this box going beyond that and also provides a magazine in the box with some guidance on how to use the products. As well as the magazine there is also a monthly video to help you out too!
You can subscribe to the box on a rolling monthly basis for £24 a month, or if you want to save some money they also have 3 and 6 month options too! You can cancel anytime (after 3/6 months ended) so there is no scary commitment for you commitment-phobes out there!
The boxes are shipped on the 26th of each month, so you should receive your box with plenty of time to kick ass the following month!
“We feature an eye-catching box with full and sample size makeup products from many popular brands and teach you how to use them. Each month we will include up to four makeup products, a MOPBOX makeup brush, an accessory and a fun tutorial mini-zine.” – MOPBOX.co.uk
Whats in the Box? – Festival Edition
So Susan Eyeshadow Palette
A small but snazzy little palette. It doesn’t look like much, and if I’m honest I expected it to be pretty bad but it actually performed really decently on the eyes. The shimmers aren’t too pigmented but the mattes are beautiful.
ModelCo Cream Highlighter
This is a little too dark for me to wear as a highlight but it works perfectly on the lids and as a tacky base to stick the glitter into, which im pretty sure is the whole reason it was included in the box.
The Glitter Army glitter pouch
Apart from the glitter getting everywhere (and I mean EVERYWHERE) it was possibly my favourite thing in the box! I love playing with glitter but don’t often get the opportunity to. I had loads of fun creating a look using this beautiful shimmery glitter!
You can never go wrong with a pair of eyelash curlers. I don’t really need them myself as I get extensions don’t, the curl is built-in, but whenever doing makeup on someone else I would always recommend curling the lashes before adding mascara.
Lord and Berry Mascara
I was pleasantly surprised with this mascara. It’s not over the top and clumpy like id expected but separated and lengthened my lashes really well. At the point of trying this out my lashes were overdue an infill so I can confidently say I’m a fan of the mascara.
MOP Box fluffy pencil brush
The brush is simple, but it blends nicely and isn’t scratchy which is something I always look for with these types of brushes!
MOP Box makeup bag
A simple black leather (I assume faux) bag top everything in. Perfect for traveling and to take your festival look along with you!
The Festival Box is now no longer available, but not to worry because you can now get the Let it Glow box instead!
The September box is designed for a gorgeous sun-kissed look, perfect for a summer holiday! You can expect 4 full size products such as bronzer, a bronzing brush, a makeup trio and much more.
The new box sounds fab, I cant wait to get my hands on it!
Whether you are a beauty lover like me or just starting out, this box if a great one to try out!
Whether you want to learn how to do fun creative looks, or just discover new items and build your collection this box is perfect. I found the magazine that came with the box super helpful and even though I have some experience in makeup I am by no means a qualified makeup artist. I loved getting new idea from the box and being able to sit down and play around with makeup!
I created a fun look using the box and there is a tutorial on my Instagram. Feel free to pop over and give it a watch for some more ideas on how the items in the box can be used. Of course, if you’re a subscriber you also get the benefit of the MOP Box videos too!
The biggest stand out for me was the whole ‘makeup only’ concept. Most boxes tend throw in a couple of stingy skin care samples to fill out the box, but with MOP Box you literally get a whole look in a box.
Its also worth signing up to their email list on the website for more sneak peeks and product info each month!
The short version of this is the box is bomb and definitely something id love to continue receiving!
A huge thank you to MOPBoxUK for sponsoring this post and introducing me to their services!
Until next time…
