Whenever I go anywhere overnight I have to take a suitcase because I’m a classic over packer. However, in 2019 I have made it my mission to whittle my essentials down when travelling and so I’ve come up with a cheeky guide on what I (and probably you…) actually need to take with you.
It goes without saying that the most important thing you need for travel, is the right cases to keep all your bits and pieces safe and sound! Whether that’s for makeup, skin care, jewellery or clothing. You need to have the right bag/case to keep your stuff safe!
These bags featured above are the ones that work for me, and im proud to say they are all from affordable (and amazing) brands!
The KitStars bag is especially great for makeup as it has tons of space and extra pockets to store different products!
For my skin care, the pixie travel case is perfect as it has plenty of room to fit in my essentials.
The Morphe brush case is amazing to keep all my favourite brushes safe while traveling. It has a hard casing so there is no chance of anything getting damaged mid flight!
And the KitStars Set Bag is perfect for squeezing all my essential makeup items in. Keeping the safe as well as tidy.
Skin care is everything, especially when travelling!
Its essential that you take the right items to keep your skin healthy and fresh. I tend to take things that are going to keep me moisturised and sooth any irritation from flying.
So what exactly do I take with me?
These products help keep my skin clean and fresh, but moisturised at the same time!
In Flight Skin Care
My next essentials are the products to keep me sane whilst flying!
I love visiting the USA so the flights I tend to be on last a minimum of 10 hours…
This means the clothes I’m wearing and products I take with me in my carry on are SO important to my overall sanity on the flight.
Having said that, what is most important to me is some in-flight skin care. I find that the air-con on airplanes sucks all of the moisture out of my skin, so I like to do a bit of in-flight pampering before we land!
What I use…
And for the body?
Its just as important to look after the rest of your body while you’re away, so I like to take these bits along with me to help keep me feeling healthy.
Lets Talk Teeth
Whether at home or away, my teeth routine doesn’t really change. I am obsessed with my Foreo ISSA 2 and the Arm&Hammer tooth paste is my favourite (the charcoal one is amazeballs!) I usually use some mouthwash too, but to be honest ill generally use whatever is on hand for that.
If you are on your travels and are flying from Heathrow, Foreo currently have a pop up shop at Terminal 4 so make sure to stop by!
Keeping my hair feeling health can be tricky when on holiday. If I don’t take the right products with me I end up having to use whatever the hotel has on offer, which can be horrible for my hair!
At the same time, I don’t want to take huge bottles of stuff with me so these minis (with the exception of the brushes) are perfect for travel!
What I take…
Olaplex No3 (to give my hair some extra help)
Wet Brush (I usually only take one, but the original and the flex have been my faves lately)
And of course, the makeup I choose to take with me…
I like to pack my makeup products in my carry on as I’m not sure what id do if lost my luggage and had to replace all that stuff!
Most of the bits I take with my are full size, but if the full size is over the liquid limits then I’ll try and pick up a cheeky travel version instead. Im pretty sure all of the bits ive featured here are A Okay though!
Lets start with the Face
Lets Talk Tools
These three tools make it easy for me to stay looking my best and keep my brows groomed!
What about Brushes?
It’s no secret that I own A LOT of brushes, so trying to decide which ones to take with me can be difficult.
Having said that, I’ve managed to whittle it down to these essentials…
Random Bits and Bobs
And lastly, the odd bits that didn’t really fit in anywhere else but are essential for going away…
Firstly, some kind of flask/bottle. I like the Corkcicle Canteen as it keeps cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot. Also… look how cute it is!
I always take a sleep mask for both in-flight and when I’m at my hotel. Im not sure exactly where mine is from but SLIP make some amazing masks. If you’re not looking to splurge though I’m pretty sure you can find sets in Boots or Superdrug with them in.
Hand Sanitiser is another must have for me. There are a lot of germs in airports and I always find myself getting ill when traveling, so sanitiser helps to stop germs from getting into my skin. My favourite is the Merci Handy ones, they are moisturising as well a sanitising!
And of course you need some perfume to take with you. I like these little travel ones from CLEAN Reserve as not only are they the perfect size to take with you, but they smell incredible!
And that’s everything!
Of course I pack clothes etc. as well but I didn’t want to point out the obvious!
For anyone planning a summer holiday this year, hopefully this little guide helps you decide what your travel essentials are and gives some ideas of what to take with you.
Until next time…
