If you follow me on instagram you will probably already know that a few weeks ago I put my hair through some trauma!

I spontaneously decided I wanted to dye my hair teal. So I bleached it, toned it, dyed it… teal twice and then decided I hated it and dyed it black again. All this in one night.

Its safe to say, my hair was screaming at me!

Ive been using some bits from Maria Nila for a while now and after my hair trauma I reached out to them to see if I could try some of their structure repair range. Because they’re lovely, they sorted me out with some bits to get my hair back into shape.

Since absolutely killing off my hair, I’ve been religiously using the structure repair shampoo and conditioner, and then once a week I’ve been using the hair mask too.

As I mentioned, I’ve been using their products for a while now anyway and have always loved how they made my hair feel. But let me tell you, this range is phenomenal!

After just a few weeks of regular use my hair feels healthier than its been in years!

Now, for the purpose of being 100% transparent… I do also take hair vitamins, so these will obviously have something to do with the health of my hair too. But, I’ve been taking various different hair vitamins for years now so I’m pretty confident I can differentiate the benefits the vitamins are giving me compared to the Maria Nila products.

As well as the bits Maria Nila sent over to me I’ve also hopped on to the Sally’s beauty site and ordered myself some restock products, so I thought id take you through everything else I’ve tried or have purchased to try as well.

As I mentioned, I’ve used shampoos and conditioners from other ranges before I tried the structure repair ones. previously I’ve used the volume range, but I thought id pick up the ones from the soft range to try out. Im expecting good things as the volume shampoo and conditioners make my hair feel super soft anyway!

I also picked up the leave in cream as I generally use a leave in treatment of some kind every time I wash my hair, so why not give this one a go?

Side note…

as of when I’m writing this post Sally’s has the Maria Nila shampoo and conditioners on buy one get one half price, so now is a great time to pick some up if you want to try. New customers can also get 20% off with the code NEWSALLY19.

You’re welcome!

Okay, so back to what I’ve tried…

Of course the hair mask as I mentioned is a weekly ritual for me. Sometimes I’ll use it instead of conditioner but I will usually use it as well as. If I’m honest, I’m not sure which way its meant to be done but I just tend to use things how I want and don’t pay too much attention to directions… is that bad?

Honestly though, if you try one thing from the Maria Nila range, id recommend one of the masks. They are like a little bottle of magic just waiting to give your hair a big warm hug!

Lastly, lets talk styling…

Im pretty lazy when it comes to my hair to be honest. I don’t like using a ton of products to style it because it means I’m gonna have to wash it sooner… I know, I’m a slob!

These three heroes are the exception. The dry shampoo is exactly what it says on the tin (or can). Its completely invisible, unless you use too much anyway, and even on dark hair like mine it disappears.

The oil is a daily must. I think I spoke about using oil on the daily in a previous hair care post. But this one has completely replaced my Andrew Collinge (sorry Andrew!) oil. Not only does it make my hair loose as smooth as butter, it smells delicious!

And the hair spray…

I don’t honestly use this often, but that’s mainly because I don’t tend to style my hair much. Im definitely a fan of the effortless pony tail. But when I need my hair to stay in place, I use this.

Its really gentle and can be brushed right out, but is still strong enough to hold everything where it should be. One other HUGE plus to this is that it doesn’t smell like the usual icky chemical hair spray smell. Just likes it little oily sister, it smells absolutely delicious!

Overall thoughts…

Yes this brand is pricey, but you literals get what you pay for with this. Yes you can find pretty good products in boots or Superdrug for less, but they just aren’t the same. Believe me… I know!

Because I don’t put a huge amount of effort into my hair, I don’t generally like spending a ton on products. But these are worth it and I can genuinely say I would buy then, because I actually have bought them!

Because of the price, I do recommend waiting and stocking up when there’s offers on. But if you’re bouje AF and money isn’t a problem for you, well I say go for it!

Long story short, this brand is amazing and you need it in your life.

Until next time…
